Audio Description is the translation of visual information into words.
It primarily benefits individuals who are blind or have low vision by expanding inclusivity, enabling them to understand and experience important visual information.
I have extensive, direct experience providing Audio Description in all practice areas including:
- Live – for theater, operas, dance, lectures, classes, meetings, training sessions, conferences, concerts, tours, parades, theme parks, sports, and community-based events,
- Media – for film or theatrical releases, movie trailers, television broadcasts, streaming services, DVDs, educational or training videos, 3-D imagery, virtual reality, interactive kiosks, touchscreens, and video games,
- Museums – for museums, galleries, indoor or outdoor displays, installations, and welcome or visitor centers
- Parks – for outdoor atttractions and exhibits, scenic vistas, ruins, gardens, and sculpture gardens, as well as national, state, and local parks, and
- Extemporaneous – Audio Description that is composed and voiced in real time without a script
